Hi, fellow Roche Miette Pilgrims! The world has changed since the beautiful experience of the pilgrimage/hike we shared in the late June. There is nothing unusual about it, one could say, the world changes all the time. However, the events of September 11 are unlike anything I have witnessed so far. Many wars happened during my life-time: Vietnam war, invasion of Czechoslovakia by the Soviets, India - Pakistan wars, invasion and war in Afghanistan, War State in Poland, wars in the Balkans. They all seemed distant and, with the exception of the War State in Poland, not affecting me personally. However, the bombing of the WTC and Pentagon appears to bring a new quality - a fear of terrorism, which we can't ignore. It already affects and will affect our lives.
I am even more under the influence of these developments as I was informed by Heirakhan Babaji that these things would come. I encountered "Teachings of Babaji" around 1985 during my trip to USA and India. In the "Teachings" Babaji speaks of Maha Kranti (Great Revolution), a bloody upheaval that has to come to change the hearts of human beings. I translated the text into Polish and it was later published by my associates. For many years I have hoped that these things can be prevented. Babaji hinted that hard work could even change the course chosen by God. It looks, however, that either I did not work hard enough, or we all did not try hard enough, and that September 11 is a dawn of Maha Kranti.
Under these circumstances I can wait no longer. I want to help all my English, French, Russian speaking friends, though I understand that your faith beliefs are often different from mine. In this newsletter I quote most of Babaji's sayings about the coming "pralaya" - the final solution. I encourage you to read them carefully and to take them to heart. Regardless cultural differences, I believe, there is an essence in these teachings that can be adopted by people of any religious background. I also believe it is my duty to share these things with you. It is my moral obligation to warn you. Look at these quotes with open mind, I ask you. Take as much as you want or as much as you can!

I learned about Heirakhan Babaji from Leonard Orr, my teacher of Rebirthing. I have never met Babaji in person, but Leonard used to travel to India and spent lots of time with Babaji. Leonard, as many other followers of Babaji, believed that He was a Mahavatar, a manifestation of God. According to the record Babaji "manifested" in 1970 in the cave next to the Heirakhan ashram, in Kumaon region of Uttar Pradesh. He looked like a fourteen years old, and yet impressed everyone with a divine wisdom. None knew about his parents or education, yet he was able to speak in an ancient language only a few scholars could recognize. Shortly after his appearance, Babaji went to the top of the nearby Kailash Mountain and spent 45 days sitting in deep meditation, without moving, without eating, without going to bathroom. During his stay on the earth (Babaji left his body in 1984, this time looking as a very tired 50 years old man), Babaji performed many "miracles," which were recorded and described in books. He established and attracted to his ashrams many followers of high social status from India and other countries. If not as a manifestation of God, Babaji was often accepted as God's Messenger - a person of Melchizedek's calibre. It has to be stressed that, although worshipped according to Hindu tradition and customs, Babaji was essentially very "interfaith." He often pointed out that his message was not only for the people of India, but of the whole world. In his ashrams Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikhs festivals and holy days were celebrated with the same reverence as those of Hindu tradition.
I can't give you the complete "Teachings of Babaji." Many of the quotes from this book on different subjects can be found throughout my One God Site. In this newsletter I only quote what Babaji said about the coming Revolution. I give in italics the parts that seem the most relevant in the current context. At the end of the newsletter I summarize his main points.

Babaji speaks about Maha Kranti.
The change of the present which is full of turmoil, will be brought about by bloody revolution. Peace will return only after revolution reaches its zenith. In the aftermath of the revolution - which will be total; no country will be spared big or small - some countries will be totally erased, leaving no sign of their existence. In some 3% to 5% and up to maximum of 25% of the population will be spared and will survive. The destruction will be brought about by earthquakes, floods, accidents, collisions and wars. The destructive elements which were kept in check by Sri Babaji have been released to do their worst. Those who pray to their chosen divinity will not be affected. Teachings of Babaji, P.1.
In order not to provoke Me, you must be quiet at the time of catastrophe. You must concentrate on Om Namaha Shivaya. With this mantra you can win everything, because it is stronger than all the bombs. Teachings of Babaji, P.3.
During the times of the Mahabharata (Lord Krishna's era) and the Ramayana (the earlier era of Lord Ram), there were wars that lasted for days; but now the change would take place in one day.(...) Babaji said that such a revolution was coming that nobody would know what was happening. Teachings of Babaji, P.6.
Question: Should one have children during these times? Answer: Having children is a law of nature; what will happen will happen, you cannot stop it. Teachings of Babaji, P.8.
It is the duty of everybody who comes to Babaji to spread and repeat that name of God and to spread His message of Truth, Simplicity and Love.(...) Those who remember Om Namaha Shivaya and Babaji are protected and saved. Teachings of Babaji, P.8.
Be strong in the time of great revolution which is coming. No one can stop the fire coming to the world now. The bells of great destruction are already ringing. The war will be such that people sleeping will die immediately. There will be atomic war. People will die immediately in their houses from gas and atomic and nuclear radiations. The energy of Om Namaha Shivaya shall destroy all contradictory energies of hydrogen and atom bombs and will protect you. Teachings of Babaji, P.12.
A person might argue that when destruction is going to take place, why should I work? Why should I do any karma? But that is not right. One should work to his last breath.(...) Teachings of Babaji, P.16.
Up to this time, many incarnations of the Lord have brought war and violence to bring peace to the world. He is now preparing your hearts for the coming revolution, so you can face it peacefully. He has faith in no particular army; each human being is part of His army and He will face atomic bombs and cannons with the power of the Word of God. On one hand, certain countries are busy creating weapons and armaments; on the other hand, Babaji is nullifying these by having people loudly repeat the Word of God, bringing spiritual change. He has come to the world to save it from destruction; otherwise, this world would have ended. Teachings of Babaji, P.21.
The great revolution is very near! There is no one in this world to stop it. This is a time of great destruction. Everyone must become spiritually strong and courageous. He alone can survive who has spiritual courage. Without spiritual courage, one is dead though he is living. The time is coming very soon. So that is why you people all must work. And be brave. Everyone must consider himself a humble servant of the world. Teachings of Babaji, P.22.
Now you see a sweet form of God, but in the future you will see a fierce form of God. Peace will come only after a Kranti (destruction/revolution). Babaji says a Kranti will come very soon and in the twinkling of an eye will spread over the world. This is why Babaji cautions us again and again to be alert. Teachings of Babaji, P.29.
Babaji again cautions us to be alert. A great revolution is coming. It is not of the ordinary type. Between heaven and earth this type of revolution has never been seen before. It will be astonishing and terrible. The destruction will be such that people will die as they work, sleep or stand. People will be killed by gas; buildings will remain but the danger is to humanity. Babaji reminds us to be prepared. Teachings of Babaji, P.30.
Those who repeat Om Namaha Shivaya, who are righteous, and those who are God-loving, will be protected. Teachings of Babaji, P.30.
As you have known for some time, the world will change. The lazy person is a burden to the world. That is why I tell you to work hard and have others do the same.(...) Teachings of Babaji, P.33.
Times will change, so you must resolve in your hearts to be industrious and courageous. Those who are strong like iron are fit to flourish. To become strong does not mean to become harsh and heartless. To become strong means to grow beyond pleasure and pain: beyond heat and cold. Teachings of Babaji, P.33.
This, more than others, is an era (yuga) of great destruction. Man has become enslaved by his lower nature. I have come to guide humanity to a higher path. I do not belong to any particular religion, but respect all religions. I seek elevation of all mankind. The higher self in people must be developed and enthrallment with the lower nature destroyed. It will be destroyed in countries all around the world by changing the hearts of mankind. Do you understand? Now that you understand, you must live in Truth, Simplicity and Love, and take this message into the world. Teachings of Babaji, P.34.
(...) In this Yuga, the destruction will come within the flicker of an eye. This destruction will be such that those sleeping will be left sleeping, those standing will be left standing. The whole world will be transformed like this. In this destruction everything will finish; nothing will remain the same. You should therefore leave your attachment to the world. Only repetition of God's name will be useful for you; otherwise it is hopeless. (...) Teachings of Babaji, P.43.
(...) in America people will get a form of disease which they will be unable to stop and which will cause death. Some will vomit themselves to death, still others will be bleed to death from cuts which will not stop bleeding. There is no sure prevention and there will be no cure. He recommends fasting as the best means of avoidance. (7.I.1983). Teachings of Babaji, P.44.
A change in the world is coming soon. Change is nothing new; it is the law of nature. (...) We must face the coming destruction with courage. I want you to be very alert and careful. Be ready to face the world. Teachings of Babaji, P.46.
(...) This revolution will set fire to the whole world. Only those will live who have adventure in their hearts, those who are wed to truth. You should all go forward with courage and adventure. This is why you should proceed with your duty always foremost in your mind. (...) Teachings of Babaji, P.50-51.
(...) A great revolution is coming. Wherever you live, be prepared to face the Revolution. (...) Only that person can take part who is prepared to face death, who is prepared to die at any moment. Only the man who is daring and has courage, who is prepared to die for the sake of righteousness, is fit to face the Revolution. The whole universe will be involved in this Mahakranti (Great Revolution). It is not limited to India. I am warning everyone in the universe. In whatever area one may live, he must spread this message. To whatever profession a person may belong, whatever may be his activity, he must take part in this Revolution. This will be the greatest Revolution in the history of the world - so all of you must be alert and make others alert. Teachings of Babaji, P.51.
In the world today fire is bursting out on one side, while nectar flows on the other. You must decide if you choose fire or nectar. While flames of the fire are spreading, it is up to us to save ourselves and others. We must be alert. At this moment people are jumping into the fire because of their ignorance. (...) Wake up yourselves and others. Control your mind and have firm determination. (...) Wherever you go, be prepared to save people. Be firm like a rock, deep and serious like the sea. (...) Teachings of Babaji, P.53.
(...) the Revolution will occur simultaneously everywhere in the world. Countries which believe that they can save themselves through the newly invented weapons can forget this thought, for they will not be able to do so. (...) Superpowers like Russia and America will not be able to face the fire even with their new weapons. Nothing that they have invented will be of any use. Everything can be destroyed. (...) For those who are true devotees of Babaji, the flames of fire will become cool. Face the fire and it will turn to ice. This requires control of mind and a firm determination. Everyone will have to face the fire. Teachings of Babaji, P.54.
All of you must bring alertness into your lives. The revolutionary spirit which I want to inspire in the hearts of all of you is for the peace of the world. This revolution takes place for the sake of world peace. This is my sole aim and main task. (...) When unrighteousness prevails in the world this is the only path possible. Teachings of Babaji, P.61.
I think the great revolution is very near. Be prepared for it, leaving behind the fear of death and the hope of life. I think it is necessary now that there is a great revolution because without such a revolution there can be no peace. In all epochs it has been like that - only after bloodshed peace was obtained. (...) Teachings of Babaji, P.73.
(...) Phuro! - Be inspired! This revolution will be so fierce that it will melt the hearts of men. This Revolution will annihilate the trees and leaves in the world. as the result of nuclear destruction. (...) Teachings of Babaji, P.79.
A great Revolution shall come to the world. Destruction is a most necessary aspect of creation. At all times, peace was established only after revolution. For many Yugas, the earth has been crying out for blood. The whole earth has to be bathed in blood at least once. This desire of the earth will be fulfilled. The Revolution will come quickly, in seconds, and spread everywhere. (...) No power in the world can stop the Revolution coming now. Teachings of Babaji, P.82.
Today the world is playing with fire. We have to be ready to face fire, water and great storms and not be shaken. We have to go beyond the hope of life and the fear of death. Whatever happens we must go ahead. Then only can we benefit the world. We have to bring the path of karma into the light. Now the world is in deep darkness. The Revolution spreading in this world can be controlled by karma alone. Teachings of Babaji, P.91.
You have to be strong and capable of facing these coming difficult times. Oh, youth! Remove all differences from your minds and unite like one great chain. We have to do good, not bad, for the whole world. You have to gather your courage, leave behind the fear of death to face life with hope and courage. Forget profit and loss - do not be concerned for praise or abuse - march on! You will have to walk through the blazing fire; only then can this world be saved. Teachings of Babaji, P.98.
(...) The calamities which are coming to this world are unavoidable. Only he who has strong determination to do good acts and who is strongly devoted to God can survive this destruction. Teachings of Babaji, P.106.
You must all step together and form a great international organization - bigger than anything organized in the history of the world. I do not want you all to be ruined or destroyed. A great Revolution is going to take place such as never before occurred in the world. The hearts of the people who read or hear the history of this Revolution will melt. This is the era of great destruction - no other time can be compared to this. The Revolution will last not for minutes but only for some seconds. The countries which have invented these destructive weapons will themselves be destroyed. (...) Only he who has surrendered completely at the feet of Shri Mahaprabhuji (God) is secure. Calamities will fall not just on one country but on the whole universe; the whole universe is in danger. The terrible times which are approaching will engulf the whole world; the whole universe will be enveloped in this destruction. (...) Teachings of Babaji, P.119.

Beauty within the bombing - by Gary Horn.
Ricky Fitz stood in the school yard, his camcorder trained on a mangled bird lying on the ground. Jane Burnham and her friend Angie cautiously approached him; they had heard about some of his strange behavior and his recent stay in a mental hospital. When they asked why he was filming the dead bird, he replied, "Because it's beautiful."
Jane's world, along with Ricky's, was far from beautiful. Her remote father was a weak chameleon. Her mother was plastic, exuding a false confidence and competence. Ricky's brutal father, a Marine Corp Colonel with a shameful secret, dominated and distrusted his son. On several occasions Ricky's father struck him until he bled. His mother lived as an emotional catatonic, paralyzed by fear. Yet somehow, despite this oppressive environment, Ricky claimed and exuded a fearless confidence and peace. Jane was drawn to him.
As Ricky and Jane walked home from school one day, he shared that he had once filmed a homeless woman who had frozen to death. Jane wanted to know why. "Because it was amazing," he replied. "When you see something like that, it's like God is looking right at you, just for a second. And if you're careful, you can look right back." "And what do you see?" Jane inquired. "Beauty," was his answer.
One day Jane discovered the secret to Ricky's confidence. While in his room, Ricky showed her videotape of the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen: a small plastic bag, spinning and bouncing next to a building in the late autumn air. He had watched this bag for 15 minutes as it danced with the dead leaves. "That was the day," he told Jane, "when I realized there was this entire life behind things. And this incredibly benevolent force that wanted me to know that there was no reason to be afraid…ever." He acknowledged that the video didn't do justice to his experience, but it helped him remember. "I need to remember", he said to Jane. His voice quavering, he continued, "Sometimes there is so much beauty in the world, it's like I can't take it, and my heart is just going to cave in."
This kind of awareness is a gift from God. For some folks like Ricky, God seems to have given it from birth. For Jane's father, his epiphany was more gradual; he had to stop pretending and living in denial, and then the awareness began to bud and blossom. For others, like Ricky's father and Jane's mother, they were fearful and unwilling to face the truth about themselves, even resorting to murder to maintain their illusions. They were sealed off from the beauty and doomed to strive against themselves and their world.
Perhaps Ricky would have appreciated Phillip Brooks' observations:
"The great danger facing all of us... is not that we shall make an absolute failure of life, nor that we shall fall into outright viciousness, nor that we shall be terribly unhappy, nor that we shall feel [that] life has no meaning at all -- not these things. The danger is that we may fail to perceive life's greatest meaning, fall short of its highest good, miss its deepest and most abiding happiness, be unable to tender the most needed service, be unconscious of life ablaze with the light of the Presence of God -- and be content to have it so -- that is the danger: that some day we may wake up and find that always we have been busy with husks and trappings of life and have really missed life itself."
As we struggle with the pain and ugliness of the recent terrorist attacks, let us pray that God would reveal the blaze of His beauty in the mist of it all. Most of all, let's pray for the kind of vision that sees His presence and activity in the course of our ordinary daily lives. This kind of vision can transform us and make us His agents of love in a world that so desperately needs it.

Letter to Gary - by Piotr Rajski.
Hi Gary, thank you for the text. It starts with the part of the "American Beauty" that also moved me. Again, it shows me that we are soul mates.
As to the hike I will naturally let you know when we fix some dates. I assume it will be again either the last weekend of June or the first, long weekend of July 2002. Obviously, it will depend on the fact whether the world, as we know it today, will exist at that time. In the newsletter I quote at length predictions about the coming calamities by Heirakhan Babaji. His teachings influenced my spirituality enormously. I still hope that this doom scenario can be reverted. We should strive to change people's hearts toward God. This is the only way it can be prevented. I have no doubt that spiritual people like you will be spared, but we should warn others. I hope that the fact that this message comes from what appears to be a different culture, will not change your mind about contributing to the Roche Miette Newsletter.
I also met a few Muslim people about whom I can only think with respect. I love Muslim mystics and the poetry of Kahlil Gibran. Unfortunately, in every culture or religious group, including Christians, you find people interested in murder. These people, and their hatred, may be, as suggested by Babaji, used by God to bring about a change. There is no doubt in my mind that the material civilization as created in the West, with boundless consumption, and ills such as abortions, stem cells, genetically modified foods, possibility of human cloning, feeding cows with other animals, satanic rock bands, environmental pollution, overweight population, cancer and aids, all the greed, etc., is at the verge of collapse anyway. This is in fact, as claimed by terrorists, God-less civilization. Millions of people attend churches, synagogues, gurdwaras and mosques, but what they really worship is profit, car, house and vacation in Las Vegas. Striking is also arrogance that comes from the perception of material power. This is when we think that we don't need God anymore. This arrogance is often what the "less fortunate" complain about.
I already see a lot of positive change as a result of the WTC bombing. People have become more insecure, and it is when they often turn to God. I witness a lot of people praying more, or at least talking about prayer. People say that they are not the same anymore. Something in them has changed forever. Perhaps this one warning will be good enough. But I worry that there is more to come.

These thoughts came to me the evening of the attack of the World Trade Centre.
……….. God’s children are hurting, why is this done, why do we wish to destroy ourselves?
There is enough wealth on Earth for all. This terrible tragedy
and death that was witnessed is but a part of the pain and suffering of
humankind. This is not God’s will. This must stop. All greed
and power hunting will never amount to anything but destruction.
Today innocent lives were lost, families torn and a future generation
struck forever. We must pray, pray for peace and pray that more carnage
does not happen. We must believe that God loves us and that total
denial of His love is wrong.
We must pray for the families that are torn apart and search
deep inside for peace that is sewn into our own selves. We must love one
another every moment of every day and do not hate or destroy what God has
given us…..
It has been a few weeks after the tragedy.
…..Love in this world must begin to flow again. From one person
to another, no matter what colour of skin, race or religion.
This disaster of humanity is namely what a few have conceived and executed.
This is not God’s will or the will of His followers. It was a choice
of a mere few power hungered, greedy people that resist what God can really
do for them.
To just be and allow God to work in our lives we must let go
of all that we posses. We must allow ourselves to search for what
we really need not what the world dictates. In trusting with your
heart, material wealth is meaningless. God gives us what we need.
We can all go back in our own personal history, our own past and see what
we wanted, and possibly discover what God actually gave us.
In seeing the devastation of what a few people on Earth can do,
what greater gift of love and life could the world community accomplish.
Yes more are worshipping than before, more questions are asked, more answers
will be given, but will the people of God listen? Will we hear what
God has to say?
Reach out to your neighbour and connect at a human level and
God will do the rest. Love one another as God loves us. Do
not despair in what was lost, learn and look to the future to heal and
grow in love.
Peace can only be achieved if we all pray together for a common
good. Again only a few individuals caused the world to change in
a matter of moments. How much of a more powerful statement would
a commitment to peace say if all of us prayed and tried to get along with
one another. It is time to allow the healing to begin and let the
past experience give us strength to continue a peaceful future.
Listen to what is real, let your heart speak and don't
let confusion hold us back form the light. We must be good to one
another, love one another, and be at peace. A majority of love will
always crush the hate.
We must allow the trust that is sewn in to each of us to flourish.
This trust will build hope and the continued building of God’s kingdom
on Earth……
